The first ever International Summer Program of the University Consortium of the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road (UCMSR) took place in Xiamen University from July 20- August 1, 2019. The followings offer a glimpse into some wonderful moments throughout the program:
Orientation

On the orientation, Xiamen University leaders delivered the opening speech and gave a warm welcome to all the participants. Lecturers and program officers elaborated the outline of the workshop activity and emphasized some safety tips. The participants were also led out on a scavenger hunt specially designed to help them build the team.
LECTURE SERIES
Spanning experimental economics, Xiamen in the Maritime Silk Road, labour economics and China's growth prospects, trade liberalization and China's economic growth as well as One Belt One Road Initiative and China International Economic Cooperation, six in-depth classroom lectures were addressed by renowned scholars from July 21-July 30, 2019, which allowed the studens to advance their knowledge of the region and China's economic development and growth.
